Wisconsin’s Democratic Gov. Tony Evers announced Thursday that he will not seek a third term in 2026, creating the first open race for governor in the battleground state in 16 years.
In a video announcing his decision, Evers said he was “damn proud” of working 50 years in public service. But he said it was time to focus on his family.
